RECIEPIENTS that we have chosen to receive our assistance to date;

MIRO MILANJA – in 2015 Miro was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma (a cancer that develops in the Plasma cells. Sporting Hope was able to raise funds for Miro and his family to enable them to overcome the initial loss of income and medical expenses.

DYLAN EYRICH – 2016 a young man (13 years old) was in desperate need of a wheel chair accessible vehicle to enable his family to get him to medical appointments and school. Dylan has Modular Heterotopia. His disabilities are numerous – blindness, unable to walk or talk. Sporting Hope was able to raise sufficient funds to purchase a suitable vehicle.

RILEY CORBURN-HALL - in August 2017 Riley suffered a serious Rugby League accident while playing in an under 14 game for his Mallabula team. He dissected a coronary artery when tackled which resulted in a blood clot and subsequent stroke, reducing his mobility. Sporting Hope took on the task to acquire a vehicle for Riley and his mother to assist the family with transport.

KERRY GROVER - Kerry was left paralysed after a freak accident. Sporting home assisted the Grover family to run a golf day and fundraiser at the Tanilba Golf Course to raise sufficient funds to purchase a suitable accessible vehicle.

MADISON CHESSUM-HARRIS - In October, 2019 we were approached by the Mayor of Port Stephens, Ryan Palmer who asked If  the Association could assist a local family who were in need.  We met with Tanya Chessum- Harris, mother of 11 year old Madison.  The family was in need of urgent assistance to upgrade the disability vehicle they owned to a more suitable vehicle.  Apart from Madison there are three other sisters.

Shortly afterwards a suitable vehicle was found and due to the urgency of the matter Sporting Hope was able to advance money to purchase that vehicle.  Sporting Hope exchanged the vehicles with Sporting Hope becoming the owner of the Chessum-Harris old vehicle, a Kia Carnival.  We hope to asssit another family in need.  That vehicle is valued around $20,000.
